About Us

Rooted in the rich agricultural heritage of Mithila, Mithila Kisan Utpadak Sangathan Swavlambi Sahkari Samiti Limited is a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) based in Darbhanga, Bihar, working to connect local farmers with wider market opportunities for Mithila Makhana.

Our organisation was formed under the Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India. The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) is the Implementing Agency, while Kaushalaya Foundation serves as the Cluster-Based Business Organisation (CBBO).

Connecting Farmers with Opportunity

We aim to strengthen the farmer collective, promote the distinctive produce of Mithila, and build meaningful connections with wholesalers, retailers and other buyers. By bringing farmers together, we work towards better market access and greater value for the communities behind this traditional crop.

Our Commitment to Quality

• Rooted in Mithila: Connected to the farming communities and Makhana-growing heritage of Darbhanga and the surrounding region.
• Careful grading: Focused on offering Makhana in suitable grades for different customer and market requirements.
• Farmer-centred growth: Committed to developing market opportunities that support our farmer members and the wider local agricultural ecosystem.

Whether you are a wholesaler, retailer or business looking to source Mithila Makhana, we welcome you to contact our team to discuss your requirements.
